1927...my how your music brings back a flood of memories for me. One of the first ever bands I remember hearing when I first discovered music back in the late 80’s! Celebrating the 20‘ish anniversary of one of the greatest debut albums in Australian music history ‘...”Ish”, Erik Weideman has now returned to the stage with the 2010 version of 1927 and what a performance it was on a cold chilly Melbourne evening! Melbourne’s prestigious Forum Theatre was the perfect setting for the majestic performance, with the set being a cavalcade of hit’s for the 1927 faithful which packed the room. “The Other Side”, “A Day Like Today” and “Compulsory Hero” where the highlights for me....and my word, what a voice Erik still possesses!
As for the photo’s, well I had the best of both worlds having access to the photo pit and then roamed the room during the set trying to capture a few “magical” shots. Whether I achieved that I will leave it up to you to decide...but it certainly was a pleasure photographing in some consistent and nice bright lighting! I was particularly trying to get a few “halo” effect shot’s, the lights seemed to be placed perfectly on a few occasions where I was positioned!
PS: For the observant...yes that is Wa Wa Nee’s Paul Gray on keyboards!

Why’d you ever go and leave me all alone feeling blue”
